My design sketch poster:
it is very crowded and not a lot of white space. Lots of heavy text and not many images but at this stage, I think it is okay.
My feedback from my design sketch poster:
- 2 pathways I could go down is tools for parents or tools for schools
- who is the audience?
- how to survive in a consumer capitalist society -parents have to instill those values
- parents are like your home they're the emotional side whereas you go to school to learn. different environments for different things
- sometimes kids hate learning about budgeting and stuff at school whereas a parent teaching you is more fun and they understand what you need to know and there were consequences for overspending with pocket money
- but learning at school can also be made fun. at the moment its not relatable.
- making it real world and relatable would work for both options
- create a platform that encourages real-world scenarios as real as a teaching moment if it was classroom based. something fun that also relates to exercises at school
- or if its something simple and incentivized if its one to one parent-kid type thing
- different age groups view different money values
- could target it to first-year uni students cause they don't know a lot about money but they need to where as high school kids dont need to know as much.
- first year is the transition from dependant on parents to when you really need to start using your money wisely. instead of trying to stuff it into school or home life can you do it for uni students. they need it the most, first time you have to pay bills etc
- money management for tertiary students
- relatable for those who need it, instilling good values and habits
- get some good case studies for a few different possible scenarios
- test out the different pathways - model it and see what it could look like for either possibility
